Nelson-Tasman Freemasons Centre

We have four Blue Lodges who call 443C Nayland Road 'home', plus a number of side orders.  These are listed below:

This building (as a commercial workshop/offices unit) was purchased by the Nelson Masonic Company in 2022, then underwent major remodelling to convert it into a Lodge Room, Refectory with kitchen, meeting room and company office. It was formally dedicated in August 2024 with a hundred attendees.

On site car parking, two business rental units, CCTV security and its own highspeed WiFi make it a very pleasant home for Masons and a useful venue for other meetings and social gatherings.

Bookings for external agencies, community groups and family parties can be made via the NMHC Secretary secretary@nmhc.co.nz.

Until 2019, the main Masonic Hall was in Nile Street in the centre of Nelson city. However, a disastrous fire caused the loss of that building along with much Masonic furniture, records and memorabilia. The old heritage-listed Masonic Temple on Collingwood Street (home of the English Constitution Masons) had been sold only weeks earlier and the English groups had moved into the modern Nile Street Hall.

The ground floor meeting room is named “The Kirkpatrick Room” and acts as a focal point for the Kirkpatrick Masonic Trust. On occasions, the current KP Girls have a day there – cooking (under strict instruction, of course) and being involved in more educational (as well as fun) games.
